  • RBM Group’s journey is rooted in entrepreneurship, operational resilience and a long-term vision for growth across the mining and commodities sector. From modest beginnings in precious metals trading, the Group has evolved into a diversified mining and commodities business with interests spanning mining operations, processing infrastructure, refining, logistics and international trade. Today, RBM Group operates across multiple sectors of the mineral resources value chain with an expanding footprint in South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and strategic international markets.

  • 2009-2012

    RBM Group’s origins began within the precious metals sector through the trading and processing of scrap gold jewellery via two standalone retail operations located in the Johannesburg CBD. This foundational period established the Group’s early commercial expertise within bullion markets, precious metals valuation and customer distribution networks.

  • 2012-2013

    As market demand accelerated, RBM Group expanded into the national retail distribution of investment-grade bullion bars and Krugerrand coins. During this period, the Group also launched its digital sales platform and online retail infrastructure, significantly broadening market reach and operational scalability.

  • 2013-2015

    The Group’s retail bullion division experienced substantial growth, achieving monthly sales volumes exceeding 15,000 ounces. This rapid expansion led to the establishment of RBM Group’s global wholesale trading division, positioning the business within larger international precious metals markets.

  • 2015-2018

    RBM Group established corporate offices in Sandton and strategically diversified into mining, refining and resource-based joint venture operations. Through partnerships spanning nine countries, the Group expanded its operational footprint and strengthened its position across the broader mining and commodities value chain.

  • 2018-CURRENT

    RBM Group evolved into a vertically integrated mining and commodities enterprise with activities spanning mining operations, mineral processing, refining coordination and international export distribution. The Group now maintains an operational presence in both South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, supported by strategic international joint venture agreements and commercial partnerships.

  • 2024

    The acquisition of a mining permit in Mpumalanga marked a significant milestone in RBM Group’s operational expansion within the South African mining sector. To support long-term production growth, the Group acquired a multi-million-rand mineral processing facility designed to significantly enhance processing capacity and operational efficiency.

  • 2025

    RBM Group entered a new phase of growth through the establishment of RBM Chrome and PGM, focused on chromium and platinum group metal operations in Mooinooi, North West Province. Simultaneously, the Group advanced construction of its state-of-the-art 150 ton-per-hour chromium wash plant, representing a major infrastructure investment within the chrome beneficiation sector.
